Le Jazziste by Mary goes to Poland! 🌹🌍

Warsaw, Poland

Le Jazziste by Mary returns with a new discovery of female jazz from her latest journey: experimental jazz from Poland to the world!

Let me introduce you to Joanna Duda: pianist, composer, and improviser born in Gdańsk, Poland. The music she creates is experimental, with elements of jazz and contemporary classical music.

Her main projects are Solo (Keen Alpaka Rec., 2019) and Joanna Duda Trio (Fumitsuke – Echo Productions, 2021).

Both are characterized by the combination of electronic and acoustic sounds “in an osmotic and organic way.” What makes her music unique is the “search for a sonic aesthetic precisely where it seems to be missing” (joannaduda.eu/projects/).

Le Jazziste by Mary celebrates the artist with her track Grasshopper, part of the project Joanna Duda Trio – Fumitsuke:

From the same project, I also suggest the title track: Fumitsuke“:

When I launched the Le Jazziste by Mary project in October 2024, one of my desires and goals was to discover female jazz musicians from around the world from the inside—within their places of origin or adoption. To feel wrapped in their artistic presence, whether physical or mystical, and to share it in turn. ✈️🌐

I’d love to share with you some photos from the journey, wrapped in clouds, to convey the connection between experimental, creative, rebellious jazz, and a city full of history like the Polish capital: Warsaw.

Enjoy listening and enjoy the Jazz! 💜

Until the next musical journey.
