Between the end of May and the beginning of June, I visited the magical and mysterious island of Bali, Indonesia.
The star of this adventure was a girls’ retreat, dedicated to celebrating feminine energy, friendship, and sisterhood through yoga and participation in local ceremonies.
…But for me, it all began back in 2021, when I happened to watch the film Eat, Pray, Love, directed by Ryan Murphy in 2010.
The COVID period forced us all to slow down, but it also gave us the space to gather our thoughts and reflect on the meaning of health, life, and relationships.
During those months, I felt a strong urge to visit a place that would help me reconnect with my inner self, my creativity, and my spirituality – and Bali was my first choice.
As with all great dreams, however, a series of setbacks and obstacles made me wait another four years before finally booking the flight!
When I launched Le Jazziste by Mary in October 2024, one of my goals and wishes was to discover jazz women from around the world from within – in their places of origin or adoption. To feel surrounded by their presence, whether physical or mystical, and to share that experience with others.

Dian Pratiwi was born in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. After moving to Bali and studying jazz in Europe, she returned to the island that adopted her, where she now performs regularly at the Ubud Village Jazz Festival.
Le Jazziste by Mary celebrates this artist with her rendition of Save Your Love for Me (Buddy Johnson), part of the project The Bali Thing:
I’d love to share some photos from the trip to convey the emotional, intuitive, and creative connection of Shakti – a concept from the yoga world that is deeply linked to feminine energy.

Enjoy the music, and enjoy the Jazz! 💜

P.S.: Since April, the English version of Le Jazziste by Mary is now live! If you have international friends, feel free to spread the word.
